Garden Update 2014

                                              Late start after a long winter but everything is growing!

                                                            Plenty of manure working it's magic.

                                                     Greenhouse plants enjoyed an early start.

New Life for Windows

New windows in place. Just in time for cold weather.

Second Life

Our neighbors Dan and Amanda have been restoring their farmhouse. Part of the restoration involved replacing old storm windows with newer versions. Michelle came up with a wonderful idea for rescuing them from the landfill. New windows for the greenhouse! Plenty of scraping old paint, reglazing and new stain.

March in the Greenhouse

Over 125 inches of snow this winter.

Temperature inside the greenhouse: 80 degrees!

Lettuce and spinach are liking the warmer temperatures.

Garlic Bed

Snow due tomorrow. Time to get the garlic bed ready.

Large garlic bulbs in the center. Smaller bulbs all around the outside of the bed.

Pine needles use to cover the bed for the winter.

39 Degrees

39 degrees this morning. It's getting cold outside! Plants like being in the greenhouse.
